The biggest bank in the world bite the dust, USA government bailout is on the way. It is not surprise : Citigroup always play along wiht Wall street.

Detroit car company is not doing any better either. On the other hand, Japanese and Europe car brand continue to take ground.

Since many country like China, Japan, middle east country,etc  holding TOO MUCH USA bonds, they are in deep dilemma. Because USA government just approve a trillions dollar cash injection plan for the next storm, now Citigroup and detroit easily eat most of the half trillions pies.

I am not surprise if an antitrust re-kick in and split Citigroup to reduce its impact global impact when disaster hits.  And for Detroit, it is exactly the same episode as in 80’s, but worst, since many executive officer doesn’t take much salary home. Now Japanese car maker are going to take a bigger pie than ever.

Europe credit card bubble burst month ago.  CItigroup yet to reveal the credit card losses. So this is not the bottom.

Malaysia stock retailer that echoes with the various “rebounce”, will continue to burn their cash before the market hit the bottom.

And still, Bank Negara refuse to reduce the rate.

No, management book are not for executive or managers.  A good good are universal, it means for all people. A MBA will take hard time to learn the hard lesson, but you can learn those stuff ahead of all MBA people by reading these book.

The first book will lead you to learn how to find purpose of your work. How to achieve the goal by learning to develop the process.

The second book, tell you the truth about your job,  who you are actually work for.

Nevertheless, many people misread many “investment” book, that lead them to speculate in subprime loan.

My friend getting a RM100 parking fine for not paying the RM0.60,  in Selangor state that are now under Pakatan Rakyat supervision.

The problem is not about the fine, but the amount and logistic behind the parking ticket fine left over by Mr Tempeh system.

First, the fine are ridiculous high, RM100, which are 60 times of the 1 hour parking fee (In PJ, city council parking are RM0.60 per hour), or 16.67 times more than 1 day parking(that cap to RM6.00 per day ).

Second, in order to “encourage” people to pay, the municipal councils has an “appeal” system, that require you to spend 20 minutes to fill up some form, and reduce the RM100 parking fine to RM10.

As you can see here, the problem are not just about “free loader” parking fine.   In order to sustain the ex-Barisan Nasional smart-aleck system, the municipal councils bloated up the procedure, implement step that WASTING TAX PAYER time and money.

The whole issue is about setting the wrong priorities, and forget what is the goal.  The reason of having a parking fine is to encourage people to pay the parking ticket, generate some income for the local councils.   In conjunction, make people WILLINGLY pay the parking fine, thus increase the municipal income.

If the parking fine are 2 times of the daily cap(e.g. RM12) , people are more than happy to pay.  Cut down the file keeping and excessive wastage on legal letter that rarely served its purpose.

In addition, cutting down the whole “appeal” process help cut down personnel on handlign that particular session.

Some may take note that the municipal parking  “inspector” are using a gagdet that cost no less than RM15,000 (yupe, with lots of mark up since this is Bolehland)  and very expensive to maintain.

In short,  just look at the local councils parking handling, you will learn that the “inherited” municipal councils are actually massively bloated by Barisan Nasional government.

Perhaps the no.1 priorities of Pakatan rakyat are streamline the municipal councils, before they enable the local municipal council election.

Besides the Malaysia graft and corruption “industry”,  the country has many other industry are resiliient to the global cash flow shrinkage effect.   Banking are definitely not one of those.

Ironically, the “lower weight” , “not so profitable”  consumer related industries are the most resilient industry for any economy downturn.

1. Government sector.
   I think nobody surprise about this.  In Bolehland, despite the over size government department and various “privatisation” practice, Bolehland government are few country that having the highest civil servant per capita.  Did you ever heard of Bolehland government retrench incompetent staff?


2. Information Technology.  50-50.   The industry doesn’t depends on huge amount of “material”, but knowledge.  However, there is many trap doing IT business in Malaysia.
   In Bolehland,  IT company that have little “contact” will suffer. Those unable to do find a niche also suffer. It is well known that in Malaysia, customer always holding final payment for  “final delivery confirmation”. Those entrepreneur that stupid enough to let company slash their price, will get kill by the cheap price they quote, which in turn,  plunge into cash flow problem and close shop.


3. Farmer,fisherman,livestock industry.
   Well, people the become poorer still need to eat


4. Rubber industry.
   Good time bad time, you need lots of rubber


5. Insurance.
   I am not talking about insurer that involve in speculation market.  The usual brick and mortar insurance market will keep up and running.  Insurer financial tools business such as trust fund will suffer, but not their core business.  For general insurance, they might be slight slow down.
