During her visit, a mass worker protest has emerge everywhere in USA. The USA first lady,Eleanor Roosevelt, has ask Soong May Ling about worker protest in China and how China government resolve it.
Soong May Ling (宋美龄) answer with a simple American gesture : put her finger below the neck, then slash it from left to right. It is a gesture for hanging people.
Eleanor Roosevelt are shocked. Because Soong May Ling, are a graduate of Wellesley College , honors in 1917 with a major in English literature and minor in philosophy.
